Assignment 5: Final Project

Image
What We Leave Behind. In this photo series, I take pictures of old, broken-down buildings and trash around the city of McKenzie. These places and objects might seem unimportant or ugly initially, but I see them as a way to tell a bigger story about our world. My inspiration comes from the movie, Wall-E, where the Earth is full of garbage and left behind by people who stopped taking care of it. I think that story feels close to what’s happening now. By showing these parts of the city, I want people to think about how we treat our environment and how easy it is to ignore things that seem used or abandoned.  To the viewers, these photos might just look like trash, but I hope they also see the message behind them that these places have a story. They show the results of choices people make every day and remind us that if we don’t pay attention, we might end up living in a real version of Wall-E’s world.

Assigment 4: Abstract Portraits

Image
In this photo series, I used different abstracting techniques in class. I used the objects before the camera and edited pictures with layering. Those two pictures that I layered are my two favorite pictures. I used to do that in high school for computer literacy, so I find it easy.

Assignment 3: Protraits

Image
Assignment 3 :Protraits   I took pictures of one of my closest friends and my roommate. The theme of these pictures was to portray reactions to trending news topics. In the series of images, I have edited one of each person's set of photos to be black and white to show seriousness and pressing news stories. The color is used to bring warmth, highlighting the spectrum of reactions from concern to joy. News can provoke that and that's what I wanted to express through these pictures.  Models: Taiylor Carter  Jada Hines  Lighting Chart:
